Antirobe Capsules are a prescription antibiotic containing clindamycin hydrochloride for use in dogs. Clindamycin is a semisynthetic lincosamide antibiotic with activity against a variety of susceptible aerobic and anaerobic bacterial pathogens.
Antirobe Capsules are indicated for certain skin infections, including wounds and abscesses, dental infections, and osteomyelitis caused by susceptible bacteria.
Clindamycin is rapidly absorbed from the canine gastrointestinal tract and works by interfering with bacterial protein synthesis.
Antirobe contains clindamycin, a lincosamide antimicrobial agent.
Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This interferes with the ability of susceptible bacteria to produce proteins necessary for growth and survival.
Clindamycin has activity against a variety of susceptible aerobic and anaerobic bacterial pathogens.
For use in dogs only.
