How to Order Prescriptions

Description

Bio-Mycin® 200 (oxytetracycline injection) is the only injectable antibiotic formulated with patented Select Carrier™ technology, which helps deliver oxytetracycline effectively to the bloodstream while minimizing injection-site irritation and tissue damage. In studies, it caused less tissue reaction than other antibiotics like Nuflor®, Micotil®, LA-200®, and Noromycin® 300 LA. Approved for use in both beef and dairy cattle—including actating cows—Bio-Mycin 200 treats a wide range of conditions such as pinkeye, pneumonia, scours, metritis, foot rot, diphtheria, and leptospirosis. Its long-lasting tissue levels provide extended therapeutic effects, and by reducing lesion-related losses, it offers an economical, effective solution for livestock care.

Directions for Use

Before using Bio-Mycin® 200 (oxytetracycline injection), please consult with your veterinarian and follow all label instructions carefully.

For cattle: Bio-Mycin 200 can be given by intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intravenous injection—though intramuscular use is not recommended per Beef Quality Assurance guidelines. A one-time dose of 9 mg per pound of body weight (administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly) is advised for treating:

  1. Bacterial pneumonia (shipping fever) caused by Pasteurella spp. in calves and yearlings, especially when retreatment isn’t practical, such as with range cattle.

  2. Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (pinkeye) caused by Moraxella bovis.

For swine dosing guidelines, please refer to the product label.

Storage

Store Bio-Mycin® 200 at room temperature between 59°F and 77°F (15°-25°C). If the solution appears cloudy due to cold, gently warm it until it clears. Use within 12 months after the vial is first punctured, and maintain proper aseptic handling at all times.
