How It Works

Insert a test strip into the AlphaTrak® 3 Blood Glucose Meter and apply a small blood sample to the strip. The meter analyzes the sample and displays a blood glucose reading within seconds, allowing you and your veterinarian to monitor your pet's glucose levels and adjust treatment as needed.

Indications

For use with the AlphaTrak® 3 Blood Glucose Monitoring System for:

• Routine blood glucose monitoring
• At-home diabetes management
• Veterinary glucose testing
• Dogs and cats diagnosed with diabetes mellitus

These test strips are compatible only with the AlphaTrak® 3 Blood Glucose Meter.

Materials 

Blood glucose test strip with integrated glucose testing chemistry
(Manufacturer formulation is proprietary.)

Directions

Wash and dry your hands before testing.
Remove one test strip and immediately close the vial tightly.
Insert the strip into the AlphaTrak® 3 Blood Glucose Meter.
Obtain a small blood sample using the AlphaTrak® 3 Lancing Device and Sterile Lancet.
Touch the blood sample to the edge of the test strip.
Read the result displayed on the meter.
Discard the used strip after testing.

Always follow the instructions provided with your AlphaTrak® 3 Meter and your veterinarian's recommendations.

Used AlphaTRAK 3 Test Strips are considered biohazardous because they contain blood. Dispose of used test strips safely in an appropriate biohazard or secure waste container according to applicable local requirements. Veterinary professionals should follow their facility’s infection control and clinical waste disposal procedures. Do not reuse test strips.
