Description

How It Works

ChlorHex 2X contains 4% chlorhexidine gluconate, a topical antiseptic and antimicrobial ingredient used to support cleansing of the skin.

Indications

ChlorHex 2X 4% Topical Spray is labeled for topical use on dogs, cats, and horses.

It may be used where a topical antiseptic, antimicrobial, cleansing, and deodorizing formulation may be beneficial.

The product can also be used as a spray on aid for grooming, cleansing, and deodorizing as an alternative to full bathing.

Use according to label directions or as directed by your veterinarian.

Persistent, severe, worsening, or unexplained skin conditions should be evaluated by a veterinarian.

Ingredients

Inactive Ingredients:

Allantoin / Aloe Vera Gel / FD&C Blue #1 / Fragrance / Isopropyl Alcohol / Polysorbate / Purified Water

Directions

Shake well before each use.

Spray directly onto the desired skin area 2 to 3 times daily, or as directed by your veterinarian.

After application, distract the animal for several minutes to help prevent licking of the treated area.

This is a leave on topical spray. The product label does not direct rinsing after application.

Possible Side Effects

Individual sensitivities may occur. Possible reactions may include:

• Skin irritation / Redness / Dryness / Local sensitivity / Discomfort at the application site

Accidental eye exposure may cause irritation.

Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal irritation.

Discontinue use and consult your veterinarian if significant or persistent irritation, redness, swelling, discomfort, or another unexpected reaction develops.

If accidental eye exposure occurs, rinse the eye thoroughly with clean water and seek appropriate veterinary guidance if irritation persists.

Precautions

Use ChlorHex 2X only on the external skin.

Avoid contact with the eyes and use additional care when spraying near the face.

Do not spray directly into the animal's eyes, nose, or mouth.

Allow the product to remain on the skin after application and distract the animal for several minutes to help prevent licking.

Animals with extensive skin irritation, open or deep wounds, significant swelling, discharge, persistent discomfort, or other concerning skin changes should be evaluated by a veterinarian.

Do not use the product as a substitute for veterinary evaluation when a skin condition is persistent, recurrent, severe, or worsening.

Wash hands after application, particularly after repeated handling of the product.

Storage

Store at room temperature. Keep in the original container with the closure securely in place when not in use. Protect from contamination and inappropriate environmental exposure. Keep out of reach of children and animals when not being administered. Do not use beyond the expiration date printed on the product packaging.

Disposal

Dispose of expired, contaminated, or unwanted product according to applicable local requirements.
Do not allow discarded product to contaminate animal food, feed, or drinking water.
Dispose of empty packaging according to applicable local requirements.
Keep discarded product and packaging inaccessible to children and animals.
