Description

Betadine® 5% Sterile Ophthalmic Prep Solution is a povidone-iodine solution used for pre-operative antiseptic preparation and irrigation of the ocular and periocular areas, including the eyelids, lashes, brow, cheek, cornea, and conjunctiva. This Rx-only sterile solution provides fast, effective antimicrobial action to reduce the risk of infection prior to ophthalmic procedures.

Formulated with 5% povidone-iodine (0.5% available iodine), this ophthalmic prep is trusted by eye care professionals and veterinary ophthalmologists. It is not intended for intraocular use and should be thoroughly rinsed with sterile saline after application.

Usage Instructions

Confirm container integrity before use. Twist off cap completely (do not pull).

Pour contents into a sterile prep cup.

Saturate applicators or prep sponges and clean lids, lashes, brow, and cheek.

Irrigate cornea and conjunctiva using a sterile bulb syringe.

Leave in contact for 2 minutes, then flush with sterile saline.

Contraindications & Warnings

Do not use on individuals sensitive to iodine or other components.

For external use only – not for intraocular injection or irrigation.

Use only in accordance with professional medical or veterinary guidance.
