Advantage® XD Flea Control for Cats is a long-lasting topical flea treatment that provides up to 2 months of continuous flea protection with a single application. Formulated with spinetoram, it kills fleas through contact, so fleas do not have to bite your cat to die.
Designed for cats and kittens 8 weeks of age and older weighing at least 1.8 pounds, Advantage XD begins working within 30 minutes to 4 hours and helps prevent reinfestation by providing continuous protection for up to 8 weeks. The fragrance-free formula is available in weight-specific applicators for convenient dosing.

How It Works
Advantage® XD contains spinetoram, an insecticide derived from naturally occurring soil microorganisms. After application, spinetoram spreads across the skin and coat, killing fleas through contact without requiring them to bite your cat. One application provides continuous flea control for up to 8 weeks.
Indications
Advantage® XD is indicated for:
- Prevention of flea infestations
- Treatment of existing flea infestations
- Killing adult fleas
For cats and kittens 8 weeks of age and older weighing 1.8 lbs or more.

Directions
Use only as directed.
- Remove one applicator tube.
- Twist off the applicator tip.
- Part the hair at the base of the head until the skin is visible.
- Apply the entire contents directly onto the skin.
- Repeat every 2 months for continuous flea protection.
Do not apply to a wet cat, and prevent your cat from licking the application site until dry.
Use only the applicator intended for your cat's weight. Do not double-dose or divide applicators.
Cautions
- For topical use on cats only.
- Do not use on kittens under 8 weeks of age or weighing less than 1.8 lbs.
- Harmful if swallowed.
- Avoid contact with eyes and clothing.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Wash hands thoroughly after application.
Possible Side Effects
Some cats may experience:
- Hair loss at the application site
- Greasy, clumped, or matted hair
- Redness or skin irritation
- Itching
- Decreased activity
- Vomiting
- Decreased appetite

Precautions
Use only on cats.
Do not allow cats to groom one another until the application site is dry.

Storage
Store in the original package in a cool, dry place. Protect from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Disposal
Do not reuse empty applicators. Dispose of used tubes and packaging in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. If no specific requirements exist, place empty applicators in the household trash. Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage or disposal.
