Description

Misoprostol is used for the treatment and prevention of stomach ulcers in dogs. It is used to treat stomach ulcers, especially those due to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin and some prescription arthritis medications (see patient info sheet for examples). For dogs.

Misoprostol is a prescription medication for the treatment and prevention of stomach ulcers. It is used to treat stomach ulcers, especially those due to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin and some prescription arthritis medications (see patient info sheet for examples). Misoprostol is also used to decrease the toxic effects to the kidney resulting from the use of cyclosporine.

How it works

Misoprostol treats and prevents gastric (stomach) ulcers by protecting the stomach lining and decreasing stomach acid formation. Misoprostol is a synthetic form of a prostaglandin.
