Epizyme Pancreatic Enzymes for Dogs and Cats

What is EPIZYME?

EPIZYME is an enzymatic concentrate derived from porcine pancreas containing pancreatic enzymes, primarily standardized lipase, amylase and protease. EPIZYME’s manufacturing facility is fully validated, in strict adherence to cGMP, and is FDA, ICH, EMEA, JP and CPMP compliant. EPIZYME is a high quality porcine pancreatic powder, manufactured here in the U.S.A., acetone free.

What is it used for?

EPIZYME is used as a digestive aid to supplement patients with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI). EPI is a condition where the Pancreas does not manufacture enough of these digestive enzymes for the animal to properly digest and absorb the required nutrients from its food. This disease must be managed for the duration of the animal’s life. Without daily treatment the disease is fatal as the animal will slowly die of malnutrition. This makes supplementation critical to the patient. EPIZYME is used as a digestive aid in enzyme replacement therapy where digestion of carbohydrate, protein and fat is inadequate due to EPI.

Historically, the cost of treatment has often been the determining factor when a client makes the decision whether or not to supplement their pet. Typically this is a very expensive treatment. EPIZYME offers clients a cost effective alternative to the other ‘name’ brand pancreatic supplements without compromising quality or efficacy.

Fast-acting Epizyme relieves the symptoms of Pancreatic Insufficiency Disorder (PID) in dogs and cats after just one dose. This easy to use, prescription powder replaces the pancreatic enzymes that your pet doesn’t produce but needs to digest the protein, sugar, and fat in food.
    • Improves digestion and nutrition absorption in pets with Pancreatic Insufficiency Disorder (PID)
    • FDA approved for dogs and cats
    • Fast acting
    • Powder form mixes easily with food and very palatable
    • Reduces flatulence
    • Reduces loose stools

Symptoms of PID or Mal-digestion

Dogs and cats with mal-digestion, or Pancreatic Insufficiency Disorder (PID), suffer from weight loss, discomfort, and hair loss because they can’t properly digest the nutrients in food. The condition shuts down the pancreas, which produces digestive enzymes. Epizyme replaces those enzymes so that your pet can digest needed proteins, sugars and fats from food. Prescription Epizyme is formulated to be fast acting and effective and starts to improve your pet’s health with the first dose. Just mix the required amount into your dog or cat’s food.

Dosage and Administration

Consult with your Veterinarian. No one regimen will be successful for every patient. Adjust according to the severity of the EPI. Adjust dosage until desired results are obtained.
The recommended powder dosage is:
    • Dogs- ¾-1 teaspoonful for adult dogs with each meal.
    • Cats- ¼-3/4 teaspoonful with each meal.
Mix well with moistened food (canned or dry) and let stand 5 to 10 minutes before feeding.  Frequent feeding, at least 2 times daily is important.
