Treatment options for Allergies in Dogs

Is your dog suffering from allergies?
If so, what are your options for treatment?
An allergy is a state of over-reactivity or hypersensitivity of the immune system to a particular substance called an allergen.  Most allergens are proteins from plants, insects, animals or foods.  When a pet is exposed to an allergen on multiple occasions, the allergen can sensitize the immune system, and cause an over-reaction of the system, which is what causes the symptoms of allergies.

  • Itchy or red ears, or frequent ear infections
