Description

Atopivet Skin Care Collar is a dermatological collar for dogs and cats designed to help maintain healthy skin integrity by continuously providing skin-supporting lipids. The collar contains Biosfeen®, Bioiberica's sphingolipid extract rich in sphingomyelin and ceramides.

The skin's natural barrier relies on lipids, including ceramides, to help retain moisture and maintain normal protective function. Atopivet Collar gradually releases Biosfeen® from the collar's polymer matrix. The lipids then spread across the skin surface through the epidermal lipids of the stratum corneum, helping hydrate and nourish the skin.

The collar provides continuous skin support for approximately two months without requiring daily topical application. It is waterproof, so it does not need to be removed during normal bathing or swimming, and it can be used alongside antiparasitic collars.

How It Works

Atopivet Skin Care Collar contains Biosfeen®, a unique animal-derived sphingolipid extract rich in sphingomyelin and ceramides.

Ceramides are important structural components of the skin barrier and help reduce moisture loss while supporting normal barrier integrity. Sphingomyelin acts as a precursor from which additional ceramides can be produced.

Biosfeen® is incorporated into a thermoplastic polyurethane collar matrix. The collar continuously releases the lipid extract, which spreads across the skin through the natural epidermal lipids of the stratum corneum. This allows the skin-supporting lipids to be distributed beyond the immediate collar area.

Ingredients

Active Ingredients:

• Sphingolipids (Biosfeen®) – 2.5%

Biosfeen® is a sphingolipid extract containing ceramides and a high concentration of sphingomyelin.

Inactive Ingredients:

• Lavender fragrance / Lavender oil – 1.5%
• Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) – collar matrix
• 2-Ethylhexyl Diphenyl Phosphate – plasticizer
• Black Dye – helps protect the active ingredient from ultraviolet light

Directions

Remove the collar from the protective foil pouch immediately before use.

To apply:

• Unwind the collar and pull off the tabs
• Place the collar around the pet's neck
• Adjust the collar so that approximately two fingers fit comfortably between the collar and the neck
• Cut off excess collar extending more than approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) beyond the closure
• Allow the pet to wear the collar continuously for approximately 2 months

The lavender fragrance may be strongest when the package is initially opened and generally dissipates within approximately 24–48 hours. If the fragrance is initially too strong, the collar may be left outside the foil package before application.

The collar is waterproof and does not need to be removed during bathing or swimming.

Weight / Dosage

Select the appropriate collar according to the pet's species and current body size.

Follow the manufacturer label for the correct collar selection for the individual pet.

For best results, one collar should be worn continuously for approximately 2 months.

Possible Side Effects

Atopivet Skin Care Collar is generally intended for continuous dermatological support.

Possible reactions may include:

• Local skin irritation / Redness / Sensitivity at the collar contact area

Individual sensitivities to collar materials, Biosfeen®, or the lavender fragrance may occur.

If skin irritation develops or increases, remove the collar and consult your veterinarian.

Precautions

• Inspect the neck and skin periodically during use
• Do not place the collar over significantly damaged or irritated skin unless directed by your veterinarian
• Ensure the collar is not fitted too tightly
• Prevent the pet from chewing the collar
• Do not use the collar for restraint or attach it to a leash
• Keep the collar away from children when not in use

Storage

Disposal

Dispose of used, damaged, or expired collars and packaging according to applicable local requirements.
Prevent children and animals from accessing discarded collars. Do not allow animals to chew or ingest used collar material.
