Description

IVOMEC® 1% Injection is a sterile injectable parasiticide containing ivermectin for the treatment and control of a broad range of internal and external parasites in cattle and swine. In cattle, IVOMEC 1% Injection is indicated for the treatment and control of gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, cattle grubs, sucking lice, and mange mites. In swine, it treats and controls gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, lice, and mange mites. By reducing parasite burdens, IVOMEC helps support overall herd health and production efficiency.

How It Works

IVOMEC® 1% Injection contains ivermectin, a macrocyclic lactone antiparasitic. Ivermectin binds selectively to glutamate-gated chloride channels found in susceptible parasites, resulting in paralysis and death of the parasite.

Following injection, ivermectin is absorbed into the bloodstream and distributed throughout the body, where it provides activity against susceptible internal and external parasites. This broad-spectrum activity helps reduce parasite burdens and supports overall animal health.

Directions

Use only according to label directions or as directed by your veterinarian.
Cattle
Administer subcutaneously (SQ) under the loose skin in front of or behind the shoulder.
Dose at 1 mL per 110 lb (50 kg) body weight.
Swine
Administer subcutaneously (SQ) in the neck.
Dose at 1 mL per 75 lb (33 kg) body weight.

Use sterile equipment and follow proper injection practices. Do not administer intramuscularly or intravenously.

Cautions

• For animal use only.

• Do not use in species not listed on the label. Severe adverse reactions, including fatalities, have occurred in dogs following misuse of ivermectin livestock products.

Possible Side Effects
