Regular Penicillin G Procaine Injectable Suspension is available in 100-mL and 250-mL from Heartland Vet Supply. Each mL contains: penicillin G procaine 300,000 units*, procaine hydrochloride 130.8 mg*, methylparaben 1.3 mg, propylparaben 0.2 mg, sodium citrate 10 mg, sodium carboxymethylcellulose 1 mg, povidone 5 mg, lecithin 6 mg, sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate 0.2 mg, procaine hydrochloride 20 mg, and Water for Injection, q.s.
Long Acting Penicillin Injectable is indicated for the treatment of the following bacterial infections in beef cattle due to penicillin-susceptible microorganisms that are susceptible to the serum levels common to this particular dosage form, such as: 1. Bacterial Pneumonia (shipping fever complex) (Streptococcus spp., Actinomyces pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus). 2. Upper Respiratory Infections such as rhinitis or pharyngitis (Actinomyces pyogenes). 3. BlackLeg (Clostridium chauvoei)
