New research says that 55% of dogs and 54% of cats in the U.S. are obese or overweight according to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention.

Update vaccinations "Make sure all vaccinations are current at least a week to 10 days before boarding your dog or Cat” says Dr. Biehl.” Especially Bordatella (Kennel Cough) and Parvo for Dogs.
Kennel Cough and Parvo are the 2 main infectious diseases seen in Dogs after Boarding. Cats should also be Vaccinated 10 days prior to boarding with at least the minimum of Rhinotracheitus (Herpisvirus), Feline Calicivirus and Panluekopenia in the Vaccine. You may also want to include Clamydia and Leukemia.

Iams, with founding partner Helen Woodward Animal Center and more than 3,500 animal organizations worldwide, aims to raise awareness of animal adoption and provide food to animals in need.
From October through Jan. 3, 2012 the campaign will try to meet its goal of placing 1.5 million animals in homes. Since its start in 1999, the campaign has contributed to the adoption of 5.8 million pets, according to Iams.
